Nouvelle Maison, a new liquor store and French fine foods shop, is soon to open in the space previously occupied by La Patisserie European Bakery Cafe at 30 Church St in Winchester. The Select Board unanimously approved co-owners Celine and Tom Kimberly’s request for an all-alcohol beverage license last Monday.

Bringing a touch of authentic French dining to Winchester, Celine, originally from France, is well-versed in the nuances of the French culinary scene. WinchesterNews reports that Nouvelle Maison will not just be a liquor store but an upgraded version of La Patisserie. The husband-and-wife team envisions offering an array of French delights, including charcuterie-style bites, both cold and hot food, freshly baked bread, and a curated selection of alcoholic beverages. However, due to limited seating for twelve people, Nouvelle Maison won’t operate as a sit-down restaurant and bar.
Construction will begin soon, with plans for renovations and improvements in the pipeline. If everything unfolds as planned, the shop’s operating hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 am to 7 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 7 pm. The Kimberlys are optimistic about unveiling Nouvelle Maison to the public in the summer or fall of 2024, extending a warm welcome to patrons eager to savor exceptional alcohol and fine French flavors.
