Cambridge-based Middle Eastern bakery, Sofra Bakery & Cafe, is gearing up for an exciting expansion into Allston at 210 N Harvard St, marking the unveiling of their second location just minutes away from the original spot. Co-owners and chefs Ana Sortun and Maura Kilpatrick shared the exciting news through an Instagram post featuring a video of the upcoming space in its bare-bones state.
Anticipated to open its doors in early summer 2024, the new location promises to be a “more productive space for [the] baking and kitchen team,” with expanded seating for guests and an enlarged area for cooking classes—a popular offering at the bakery.
In their announcement, Sortun and Kilpatrick reassured loyal patrons that the original Cambridge locale will remain unchanged, emphasizing the continuation of familiar faces and the beloved cozy atmosphere. The expansion aims to enhance the overall experience for both the culinary team and visitors.
Renowned for its extensive menu, Sofra Bakery & Cafe caters to diverse palates with an array of sweet and savory options. From pastries and breads to shawarmas, baklavas, cookies, soups, pies, sandwiches, salads, and more, the bakery has become a go-to destination for those seeking Middle Eastern-inspired flavors.
As the anticipation builds for the grand opening of the second Sofra Bakery & Cafe location, the owners’ commitment to preserving the bakery’s roots and simultaneously embracing growth sets the stage for an exciting new chapter in Allston.
