According to Boston Restaurant Talk, Nelson Perlera, owner of El Jalisco Mexican Grill in Beverly, is pursuing approval for a new venture in East Somerville. This information is corroborated by a page in The Somerville Times, confirming Perlera’s plan to open a second restaurant at 145 Broadway, in the former site of Fasika.
Opened in August 2019, the original El Jalisco in Beverly is family-run and serves traditional Mexican fare. Diners can savor a variety of appetizers and entrees including guacamole, salsa, tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, burritos, chimichangas, and quesadillas. The restaurant is also known for its diverse margarita and cocktail selection.
