Quintino, who grew up in Lisbon, Portugal, noticed a gap in the local dining scene upon moving to the area: a lack of authentic pastéis de nata. These velvety egg custard tarts, crafted using flaky puff pastry and filled with sweet baked custard, are often delicately dusted with cinnamon.

Alongside the pastéis de nata and an array of other pastries, Flake will feature an eclectic coffee menu. While the space is primarily designed for takeout, patrons are also invited to sip and savor their sweets on-site.

Quintino said that the pair aims to finalize a grand opening date in the coming week, so be sure to follow Flake Bakery on Instagram to stay informed on all future announcements and updates.
