According to Boston Restaurant Talk, The Smoke Shop BBQ will shutter its site in Cambridge’s Kendall Square on July 28, 2024. The eatery will close its Hub Hall spot near North Station in Boston the following day, on July 29.
However, The Smoke Shop plans to open two new locations this fall. The Woburn site, which has been in the works since last year, will be situated at 2 Elm St. The exact address for the upcoming Methuen restaurant has not yet been released. Other locations in Boston’s Fort Point, East Boston, Somerville’s Assembly Row, and Cambridge’s Harvard Square will remain operational.
Known for its award-winning American-style barbecue, The Smoke Shop honors owner Andy Husbands’ 20+ years of BBQ competition experience, showcasing his expertise and passion in every dish. In addition to the exceptional barbecue, the eatery boasts New England’s largest American whiskey collection.
Husbands confirmed these developments with What Now Boston but did not provide an address for the Methuen restaurant, promising more details in early fall. Keep an eye out for updates.
