According to the Dorchester Reporter (via a Boston Restaurant Talk article), Le and his partners are preparing to launch Lêgacy Càphê at 1160 Dorchester Ave in Savin Hill, transforming the former site of Dorchester Tire Service into a cozy café.
This new venture marks another addition to Le’s illustrious portfolio, which includes Quincy’s modern Vietnamese eatery Lê Madeline (formerly Pho Linh) and Worcester’s Chashu Ramen + Izakaya, which he co-founded with chef Son Vo.
Additionally, Le’s family owns and operates Pho Hoa Restaurant in Quincy. And last fall, Le closed his popular coffee shop Reign Drink Lab, previously located next to Pho Hoa, and relocated it to South Boston.
The Dorchester Reporter mentions that Lêgacy Càphê will “tie up the loose ends” left by Reign’s move. With an in-house roastery and coffee beans sourced directly from Vietnam, the café will bring an authentic and elevated Vietnamese coffee experience to the neighborhood.
In addition to the caffeinated concoctions, Lêgacy Càphê will offer breakfast and lunch with a “fusion-oriented” menu, developed in collaboration with Chef Peter Nguyen of Lê Madeline. The new space will also feature seating, an amenity that hasn’t always been available at Reign.
Le plans to break ground on the project by the end of the year, with the café set to brew its first cup in the spring of 2025. For the latest buzz and a taste of what’s to come, follow Lêgacy Càphê on Instagram, @legacy_caphe.
