In early September 2024, Lo Conte’s Italian Restaurant shuttered its 114-116 Salem St doors. An update posted to Facebook reads, “Please be patient with us while we work to reopen Leconte’s Restaurant!”

The post led to speculation about whether Carla LoConte, who co-owns the restaurant with her husband Christopher, would be returning and if the eatery was being sold. However, Carla has indicated that she plans to come back.

Although she declined to share more details with What Now Boston, the restaurant’s website confirms that it is closed for renovations and will reopen soon. A hearing board page also notes that Lo Conte’s is in the process of updating its liquor licenses, with Carla listed as the manager.

Known for its classic Italian cuisine, the corner eatery offers three cozy, upscale-casual dining rooms and a menu brimming with time-honored recipes. Guests can enjoy everything from handmade pastas like fettuccine, gnocchi, and ravioli to more hearty seafood and meat dishes, all served in a warm, inviting atmosphere.

It appears some menu changes were made prior to the closure, but it’s unclear if those updates will remain or if further adjustments are planned.

A sign recently posted on Lo Conte’s door also announces that the restaurant will reopen soon, inviting patrons to follow the eatery on social media @le_contes for updates.
