A local Mexican street food chain is expanding to a newly opened food hall.
Chilacates Mexican Street Food plans to open its twelfth location at CanalSide Food + Drink, located at 100 Cambridgeside Place in East Cambridge. The food hall is part of the CambridgeSide shopping mall.
The casual eatery will join a lineup of recent additions, including anoush’ella, DalMoros Fresh Pasta To Go, Sapporo Ramen, Teazzi Tea Shop, and Fresh, which is also set to open soon.
Since its founding in 2015, Chilacates has rapidly expanded with locations in Jamaica Plain, Cambridge, Roslindale, South Boston, Brookline, and beyond.
The chain is known for its fresh, authentic Mexican street food, offering a wide array of burritos, bowls, tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, tortas, and tostadas.
Aleska RamÃrez, a managing partner at Chilacates, told What Now Boston that the CanalSide location is slated to open in early February 2025.
