“My partner and I are thinking we will be able to open WaShin in December of this year,” Wu told What Now Boston.

“We will be offering a variety of fresh sushi in an omakase-style, where there will be no set menu every day. My partner, Sky, has 15 years of experience in high-end sushi restaurants, some of those years being in Manhattan, where he has come to Boston to help me show Bostonians the best.”

For the name WaShin, “Wa” is described as a Japanese cultural concept that usually means harmony and balance, but also signifies Japan or Japanese. “Shin” is the Japanese word for heart, or it can also be translated to mind or spirit.

WaShin’s mission statement keeps this in mind, stating that “heart” is crucial to the cooking process, and without it, the taste of the meal will fall short. In their restaurant, everything they do is done with heart and for the entertainment of their customers, Youquin also relayed.
