PLNT Burger will open its first brick-and-mortar Boston-area location at 297 Harvard St in mid-August, across from the iconic Coolidge Corner Theatre.

With 14 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast at select Whole Food Markets (including Ink Block and Dedham), PLNT Burger is redefining fast-casual dining. The eatery’s mission is to offer sustainable, plant-based food that delights the palate while reducing environmental impact and improving human health.

PLNT Burger is celebrated for its chef-crafted, planet-friendly proteins and its certified kosher and halal menu. The offerings feature vegan versions of American classics such as PLNT Cheeseburgers, BBQ Burgers, Chik’n Sandwiches, and chili. Popular sides include Crispy Herbed Fries, Crispy Green Beans, and Wavy Sweet Potato Fries, alongside a full lineup of oat milk-based milkshakes.

For Wellesley native Seth Goldman, co-founder of PLNT Burger, Honest Tea, and Beyond Meat, this venture is a homecoming.

“The Boston area has always relished delicious food and conscious capitalism. We are thrilled to offer mouth-watering plant-based food to the Coolidge Corner community” Goldman said in a press release. “Our food choices represent our biggest daily environmental footprint and we can’t wait to empower Bostonians to ‘Eat the Change’ they wish to see in the world.”

While details of the opening are still pending, co-founders Spike Mendelsohn (Top Chef) and Seth Goldman will be present for the festivities. Ben Kaplan—who What Now Boston previously reported would be involved—is no longer associated with PLNT Burger.

To celebrate the launch, the first 100 guests will receive a complimentary PLNT Cheeseburger with any purchase starting at 11 a.m. on the grand opening day. The event will also feature free samples and a local DJ.

Additionally, PLNT Burger will collaborate with local students to design a kids’ meal box featuring student artwork, launching in tandem with the opening. Further details are forthcoming.

The Coolidge Corner PLNT Burger menu will be available for dine-in, take-out, or delivery via the PLNT Burger website and app (new app members will receive a free burger or sandwich), as well as on DoorDash, Grubhub, and UberEats.
