According to Universal Hub, a new restaurant is on its way to 429 W Broadway, taking over the former spaces of South Boston Chinese and Certified Meatball Company. Cook House will be operated by Broadway Restaurant Group, known for a variety of other Southie eateries like Fat Baby Sushi, Hunter’s Kitchen, and Lincoln Tavern, which is located next door to the upcoming spot.

Owners Eric Aulenback and Michael Conlon have not yet responded to What Now Boston’s request for comment. However, prospective patrons can expect plenty of seating options (352 total), alongside “a series of small spaces offering different dining opportunities.”

Seating arrangements will include spots around an open, wood-fired kitchen, encircling a cozy fireplace, and nestled beside ceiling-height trees. A prominent skylight will bathe the space in natural light.

Chef Nick Dixon from the aforementioned Lincoln Tavern will be transferring over to Cook House to lead the kitchen. In addition to its main offerings, the venue will also feature a bakery and cafe.

Cook House is still awaiting a liquor license, zoning approval, and approval from the Boston Licensing Board. Stay tuned for more information, including the grand opening date, menu details, and regulatory updates from the city.
