A “coming soon” sign for Mission on Fire has been spotted at the former site of Sofia Italian Steakhouse on 1430 VFW Pkwy, as shared in a photo on the Friends of Boston’s Hidden Restaurants Facebook group. Additionally, job postings for General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Executive Chef positions have appeared on ZipRecruiter for the upcoming restaurant.

Mission on Fire will be the fifth Mission concept by restauranteur Wellington Augusto, expanding his extensive portfolio that already includes Mission Beach House in Revere, Mission Oak Grill in Newburyport, Mission Boathouse in Beverly, and Mission on the Bay in Swampscott. It remains unclear whether Marty Bloom, who co-owns a couple of Mission concepts, is also behind this new venture.

While all Mission concepts offer their own unique twist, each of the eateries showcases a seafood-centric menu. Patrons of the forthcoming Mission restaurant can expect classic dishes like clam chowder, fish tacos, and shrimp scampi, alongside an array of both classic and creative cocktails.

Augusto did not immediately respond to What Now Boston’s inquiries, so keep an eye out for further updates as Mission on Fire continues to develop in West Roxbury.
