Last September, What Now Boston reported that Bon Me would soon open its ninth location at 219 Jacobs St in Cambridge Crossing. While the eatery is still not open, it’s expected to welcome guests any day now.

Spanning 1,578 square feet, the new location will accommodate up to 48 indoor guests and inherit the beer license from the existing Bon Me at 60 Binney St, allowing diners to enjoy a beverage with their meals. Operating hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Meanwhile, Cambridge Day reports that another location is simultaneously in the works at 600 Technology Square. With a size of approximately 1,400 square feet and a capacity for 42 people, this larger locale will replace the original Bon Me outlet in One Kendall Square. Construction is currently underway.

Bon Me was co-founded by Boston natives Patrick Lynch and Ali Fong in 2010. After their unexpected victory in the Boston Food Truck Contest, the duo launched their first food truck in 2011 and has since grown to include two mobile locations and eight brick-and-mortar stores in Cambridge and Boston.

Known for its innovative twist on Vietnamese cuisine, Bon Me draws inspiration from the classic bánh mì sandwich. Fan favorites include The Namesake—“a decidedly non-authentic bánh mì”—chicken udon noodle soup, and a range of spicy rice bowls. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.

An opening date for the Technology Square eatery has not yet been announced, so keep an eye out for grand opening day details as more information becomes available.
