Two new OTTO Pizza restaurants are set to expand into Greater Boston, marking the twelfth and thirteenth Massachusetts locations for the Portland, Maine-based chain. The first establishment will take root in Newtonville at 344 Walnut St, filling the former site of Donut Villa, while the second will find its home at 20 Mitchell Rd in Ipswich. Founded in 2009 by Allen and Mike Keon, OTTO Pizza has rapidly grown to over twenty locations across Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Since its inception in downtown Portland, Allen and Keon have consistently pushed the boundaries of pizza innovation, blending creativity and comfort in their signature pies.

The upcoming Newtonville restaurant will serve as a Management In Training (MIT) location, providing General Manager Paul Cabrera the opportunity to transition into ownership while receiving substantial support from Corporate Management. In contrast, the forthcoming Ipswich restaurant will be overseen by a franchisee who prefers to remain anonymous, showcasing OTTO Pizza’s diverse business models.

Among the array of OTTO offerings, patrons can relish in favorites such as “The Masher,” an adventurous combination featuring mashed potatoes, scallions, and bacon, alongside classics like the meatball, ricotta, and basil pie. Beyond pizzas, the menu extends to appetizers, salads, and desserts, with options catering to both gluten-free and vegan preferences.

With the two new locations set to open by the end of March 2024, patrons can anticipate a unique blend of flavors at OTTO Pizza in Newtonville and Ipswich.
